Abstract

Reverberation chambers (RCs) are ideally suited for performing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) measurement or over-the-air (OTA) characterizations of antennas or devices under test. One main problem for RC measurements is the long measurement time which has greatly restricted its industrial applications. In the recent years, the University of Liverpool has been working on improving the measurement efficiency of RCs and made remarkable progress, which has either shortened the measurement time and/or simplified the measurement setup. In this paper, we review the OTA measurements that have been done in the RC at the University of Liverpool including the diversity gain of the multiple-input and multiple-output systems, the averaged absorption cross section of lossy objects and the radiated emission of electronic devices and present these efficient measurement techniques.
