This special issue contains the revised and extended versions of selected contributions that were presented at the 24th International Symposium on Temporal Representation and Reasoning (TIME 2017), held in Mons, Belgium, October 16-18, 2017.

TIME is a well-established symposium series that brings together researchers interested in reasoning about temporal aspects of information in all areas of computer science. The symposium has a wide remit and is devoted to both theoretical aspects and well-founded applications. One of the key aspects of the symposium is its interdisciplinarity, with attendees from different areas such as artificial intelligence, database management, logic and verification, and beyond.

The proceedings of the conference have been published as volume 90 of LIPIcs. They include 20 papers, among which 8 excellent publications were invited for submitting substantially revised and extended versions to this special issue. After a rigorous reviewing process, 6 publications were accepted to this special issue of Theoretical Computer Science.

We thank all the people involved in the project that resulted in this high quality volume, including the authors and reviewers.
