Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>We consider <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$Z'$$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>Z</mml:mi> <mml:mo>′</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula>s in heterotic string derived models and study <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$Z'$$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>Z</mml:mi> <mml:mo>′</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> resonant production at the TeV scale at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We use various kinematic differential distributions for the Drell–Yan process at NNLO in QCD to explore the parameter space of such models and investigate <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$Z'$$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>Z</mml:mi> <mml:mo>′</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> couplings. In particular, we study the impact of <jats:italic>Z</jats:italic>-<jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$Z'$$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>Z</mml:mi> <mml:mo>′</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> kinetic-mixing interactions on forward-backward asymmetry (<jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$A_{FB}$$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>FB</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula>) and other distributions at the LHC.</jats:p>
