Abstract

<jats:title>A<jats:sc>bstract</jats:sc> </jats:title><jats:p>The first observation of the <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ {\Lambda}_b^0\to {D}_s^{-}p $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>Λ</mml:mi> <mml:mi>b</mml:mi> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mo>→</mml:mo> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>D</mml:mi> <mml:mi>s</mml:mi> <mml:mo>−</mml:mo> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>p</mml:mi> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> decay is presented using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ \sqrt{s} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msqrt> <mml:mi>s</mml:mi> </mml:msqrt> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> = 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 6 fb<jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic>1</jats:sup>.
