Abstract
Hearing loss is one of the commonest sensory losses in healthy ageing, primarily related to functional loss of both sensory and neural elements. Hearing loss is associated with accelerating cognitive decline (including impaired memory, slowed processing, reduced ability to inhibit interference and speech problems) and incident of dementia. This study aimed to investigate abnormalities of brain surface morphometry (cortical thickness and sulcal depth) in mild to moderate hearing loss using quantitative surface-based methods.
