Abstract
This chapter analyses political satire by investigating the arguable impact of two significant houses, those of Spitting Image and Private Eye. The chapter looks at satire historically, the character of the two aforementioned houses of satirical impact, the target audiences of both, and the necessity for a perception of 'balance'. It will deconstruct each of these satirical facets through the rhetorical devices of ethos, pathos, and logos.
