Abstract

This working paper explores the potential of Action Research (AR) to deliver sustainable social outcomes in Equity Housing Group’s (EHG) supply chain. EHG is a social housing organisation in the North West of England. EHG use supply chain levies in major contracts, based on contract values. Monies raised through supplier levies are used to fund diverse community initiates. The intended and unintended consequences of these procurement mechanisms on a range of stakeholders require exploration. This paper evaluates how AR can challenge the assumed principles of social value and sustainable procurement in practice.
