Abstract

From samples ofppcollision data collected by the LHCb experiment atffiffiffisp¼7, 8 and 13 TeV,corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1.0, 2.0 and1.5fb−1, respectively, a peak in both theΛ0bK−andΞ0bπ−invariant mass spectra is observed. In the quark model, radially and orbitally excitedΞ−bresonances withquark contentbdsare expected. Referring to this peak asΞbð6227Þ−, the mass and natural width are measuredto bemΞbð6227Þ−¼6226.9 2.0 0.3 0.2MeV=c2andΓΞbð6227Þ−¼18.1 5.4 1.8MeV=c2, wherethe first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third, onmΞbð6227Þ−, is due to the knowledgeof theΛ0bbaryon mass. Relative production rates of theΞbð6227Þ−→Λ0bK−andΞbð6227Þ−→Ξ0bπ−decaysare also reported
