Abstract

Information technology work is heavily male-dominated. How women navigate this environment remains unclear. Interviews were conducted with 57 female IT professionals. The findings contribute to the refinement of structural perspectives on gender by casting light on women’s efforts to subvert gendered structures and identities in IT and improve their position in tech.
