Abstract

This mixed reality experience will immerse visitors in the famous case of Florence Maybrick who was accused of the alleged arsenic poising of her husband. In doing so, the project will take visitors on a journey back in time to experience and feel what it was like to encounter Liverpool’s late Victorian prison and justice system. The R&D prototype combines leading-edge technology for instance, high-resolution volumetric filming and Microsoft Hololens; both of which will enable visitors to see and walk up to seemingly living holograms in the building and incorporate live performances and interactions with characters from the past. This is considered the world’s first volumetric, holographic, mixed reality experience for a building that is part of a UNESCO world heritage site.
