Abstract
Lifeline is a composition for trombone, electronics and video graphics. The sound of the trombone is analysed in real-time and used to control and generate live video graphics created using Open GL. Using the software programme MAX, video graphics respond in real-time to the instrumentalist's sound, enabling the player to use dynamic and timbral variations in their performance to control both the visuals and the music.
