<jats:title>A<jats:sc>bstract</jats:sc> </jats:title><jats:p>We report on a measurement of the <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>Λ</mml:mi> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> to <jats:italic>D</jats:italic><jats:sup>0</jats:sup> production ratio in peripheral PbPb collisions at <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msqrt> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>s</mml:mi> <mml:mi>NN</mml:mi> </mml:msub> </mml:msqrt> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> = 5<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>02 TeV with the LHCb detector in the forward rapidity region 2 <jats:italic>&lt; y &lt;</jats:italic> 4<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>5. The <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>Λ</mml:mi> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> (<jats:italic>D</jats:italic><jats:sup>0</jats:sup>) hadrons are reconstructed via the decay channel <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ {\Lambda}_c^{+} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>Λ</mml:mi> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula><jats:italic>→ pK</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic></jats:sup><jats:italic>π</jats:italic><jats:sup>+</jats:sup> (<jats:italic>D</jats:italic><jats:sup>0</jats:sup><jats:italic>→ K</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic></jats:sup><jats:italic>π</jats:italic><jats:sup>+</jats:sup>) for 2 <jats:italic>&lt; p</jats:italic><jats:sub>T</jats:sub><jats:italic>&lt;</jats:italic> 8 GeV/<jats:italic>c</jats:italic> and in the centrality range of about 65–90%. The results show no significant dependence on <jats:italic>p</jats:italic><jats:sub>T</jats:sub>, <jats:italic>y</jats:italic> or the mean number of participating nucleons. They are also consistent with similar measurements obtained by the LHCb collaboration in pPb and Pbp collisions at <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msqrt> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>s</mml:mi> <mml:mi>NN</mml:mi> </mml:msub> </mml:msqrt> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> = 5<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>02 TeV. The data agree well with predictions from PYTHIA in pp collisions at <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ \sqrt{s} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msqrt> <mml:mi>s</mml:mi> </mml:msqrt> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> = 5 TeV but are in tension with predictions of the Statistical Hadronization model.</jats:p>
