We used walking interviews as part of a British Academy-funded project to explore local understanding of the relationship between local weather, place and climate change, and how this might inform place-specific climate change communication and engagement. Walking interviews have been demonstrated as a productive way of accessing a local community’s connections to its surrounding environment. We wanted to investigate the role of walking – and talking and listening while walking – in developing climate change policy. The poster reflects on our experience of using this method, including in relation to: • Co-design • Inclusivity • Ethical and practical considerations • Benefits and limitations
