Abstract

A search for <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mi>C</a:mi><a:mi>P</a:mi></a:math> violation in <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><c:msubsup><c:mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</c:mi><c:mi>b</c:mi><c:mn>0</c:mn></c:msubsup><c:mo stretchy="false">→</c:mo><c:mi>p</c:mi><c:msup><c:mi>K</c:mi><c:mo>−</c:mo></c:msup></c:math> and <g:math xmlns:g="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><g:msubsup><g:mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</g:mi><g:mi>b</g:mi><g:mn>0</g:mn></g:msubsup><g:mo stretchy="false">→</g:mo><g:mi>p</g:mi><g:msup><g:mi>π</g:mi><g:mo>−</g:mo></g:msup></g:math> decays is presented using the full Run 1 and Run 2 data samples of <k:math xmlns:k="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><k:mi>p</k:mi><k:mi>p</k:mi></k:math> collisions collected with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of <m:math xmlns:m="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><m:mn>9</m:mn><m:mtext> </m:mtext><m:mtext> </m:mtext><m:msup><m:mi>fb</m:mi><m:mrow><m:mo>−</m:mo><m:mn>1</m:mn></m:mrow></m:msup></m:math> at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. For the Run 2 data sample, the <o:math xmlns:o="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><o:mi>C</o:mi><o:mi>P</o:mi></o:math>-violating asymmetries are measured to be <q:math xmlns:q="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><q:msubsup><q:mi>A</q:mi><q:mrow><q:mi>C</q:mi><q:mi>P</q:mi></q:mrow><q:mrow><q:mi>p</q:mi><q:msup><q:mi>K</q:mi><q:mo>−</q:mo></q:msup></q:mrow></q:msubsup><q:mo>=</q:mo><q:mo stretchy="false">(</q:mo><q:mo>−</q:mo><q:mn>1.4</q:mn><q:mo>±</q:mo><q:mn>0.7</q:mn><q:mo>±</q:mo><q:mn>0.4</q:mn><q:mo stretchy="false">)</q:mo><q:mo>%</q:mo></q:math> and <u:math xmlns:u="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><u:msubsup><u:mi>A</u:mi><u:mrow><u:mi>C</u:mi><u:mi>P</u:mi></u:mrow><u:mrow><u:mi>p</u:mi><u:msup><u:mi>π</u:mi><u:mo>−</u:mo></u:msup></u:mrow></u:msubsup><u:mo>=</u:mo><u:mo stretchy="false">(</u:mo><u:mn>0.4</u:mn><u:mo>±</u:mo><u:mn>0.9</u:mn><u:mo>±</u:mo><u:mn>0.4</u:mn><u:mo stretchy="false">)</u:mo><u:mo>%</u:mo></u:math>, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Following significant improvements in the evaluation of systematic uncertainties compared to the previous LHCb measurement, the Run 1 dataset is reanalyzed to update the corresponding results. When combining the Run 2 and updated Run 1 measurements, the final results are found to be <y:math xmlns:y="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><y:msubsup><y:mi>A</y:mi><y:mrow><y:mi>C</y:mi><y:mi>P</y:mi></y:mrow><y:mrow><y:mi>p</y:mi><y:msup><y:mi>K</y:mi><y:mo>−</y:mo></y:msup></y:mrow></y:msubsup><y:mo>=</y:mo><y:mo stretchy="false">(</y:mo><y:mo>−</y:mo><y:mn>1.1</y:mn><y:mo>±</y:mo><y:mn>0.7</y:mn><y:mo>±</y:mo><y:mn>0.4</y:mn><y:mo stretchy="false">)</y:mo><y:mo>%</y:mo></y:math> and <cb:math xmlns:cb="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><cb:msubsup><cb:mi>A</cb:mi><cb:mrow><cb:mi>C</cb:mi><cb:mi>P</cb:mi></cb:mrow><cb:mrow><cb:mi>p</cb:mi><cb:msup><cb:mi>π</cb:mi><cb:mo>−</cb:mo></cb:msup></cb:mrow></cb:msubsup><cb:mo>=</cb:mo><cb:mo stretchy="false">(</cb:mo><cb:mn>0.2</cb:mn><cb:mo>±</cb:mo><cb:mn>0.8</cb:mn><cb:mo>±</cb:mo><cb:mn>0.4</cb:mn><cb:mo stretchy="false">)</cb:mo><cb:mo>%</cb:mo></cb:math>, constituting the most precise measurements of these asymmetries to date.
