Abstract

A search for K0<inf>S</inf>ðL<inf>Þ</inf> → πþπ−μþμ− decays is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb−1. No K0<inf>S</inf>ðL<inf>Þ</inf> → πþπ−μþμ− signals are found and upper limits are set for the first time on the branching fractions BðK0<inf>S</inf> → πþπ−μþμ−Þ < 1.4 × 10−9 and BðK0<inf>L</inf> → πþπ−μþμ−Þ < 6.6 × 10−7, at the 90% confidence level.
