<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>A search for the doubly charmed baryon <jats:italic>Ω</jats:italic> <jats:sub><jats:italic>cc</jats:italic></jats:sub> <jats:sup>+</jats:sup> with the decay mode <jats:italic>Ω</jats:italic> <jats:sub><jats:italic>cc</jats:italic></jats:sub> <jats:sup>+</jats:sup> → <jats:italic>Ξ</jats:italic> <jats:sub><jats:italic>c</jats:italic></jats:sub> <jats:sup>+</jats:sup> <jats:italic>K</jats:italic><jats:sup>−</jats:sup><jats:italic>π</jats:italic><jats:sup>+</jats:sup> is performed using proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment from 2016 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup>. No significant signal is observed within the invariant mass range of 3.6 to 4.0GeV/<jats:italic>c</jats:italic><jats:sup>2</jats:sup>. Upper limits are set on the ratio <jats:italic>R</jats:italic> of the production cross-section times the total branching fraction of the <jats:italic>Ω</jats:italic> <jats:sub><jats:italic>cc</jats:italic></jats:sub> <jats:sup>+</jats:sup> → <jats:italic>Ξ</jats:italic> <jats:sub><jats:italic>c</jats:italic></jats:sub> <jats:sup>+</jats:sup> <jats:italic>K</jats:italic><jats:sup>−</jats:sup><jats:italic>π</jats:italic><jats:sup>+</jats:sup> decay with respect to the <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$\Xi _{cc}^{ + + } \to \Lambda _c^ + {K^ - }{\pi ^ + }{\pi ^ + }$$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=""> <mml:mrow> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>Ξ</mml:mi> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mo>→</mml:mo> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>Λ</mml:mi> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:msubsup> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>K</mml:mi> <mml:mo>−</mml:mo> </mml:msup> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>π</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:msup> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>π</mml:mi> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:msup> </mml:mrow> </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> decay. Upper limits at 95% credibility level for <jats:italic>R</jats:italic> in the range 0.005 to 0.11 are obtained for different hypotheses on the <jats:italic>Ω</jats:italic> <jats:sub><jats:italic>cc</jats:italic></jats:sub> <jats:sup>+</jats:sup> mass and lifetime in the rapidity range from 2.0 to 4.5 and transverse momentum range from 4 to 15 GeV/<jats:italic>c</jats:italic>.</jats:p>
