Abstract

<jats:title>A<jats:sc>bstract</jats:sc> </jats:title><jats:p>A first search for the lepton-flavour violating decays <jats:italic>B</jats:italic><jats:sup>0</jats:sup> → <jats:italic>K</jats:italic><jats:sup>*0</jats:sup><jats:italic>τ</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>±</jats:italic></jats:sup><jats:italic>μ</jats:italic><jats:sup>∓</jats:sup> is presented. The analysis is performed using a sample of proton-proton collision data, collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb<jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic>1</jats:sup>.
