Abstract

The production of solar fuels has become a topic of great interest in recent years. The focus of this work has been to study a range of photocatalytic materials and assessment of their activity towards solar fuel generation, specifically water splitting coupled with CO2 reduction for CO and H2 production in aqueous solution in the presence of charge scavengers. The materials chosen for study in this project can be split in to two distinct classes: carbon nitrides and metal oxides.
