Abstract

<jats:title>Summary</jats:title><jats:p>Based on our recent results on the optimal impulse control, we solve explicitly an optimal isolation problem for a specific SIR (susceptible‐infective‐removed) epidemic model describing, eg, the spread of AIDS.</jats:p>
